Affinity Care Recruitment is working in partnership with a respected children’s residential care provider to recruit a passionate and experienced Registered Manager for a new provider in Portsmouth.
This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a service from the ground up, with full autonomy to shape the culture, team, and outcomes for young people — backed by a provider committed to delivering outstanding care.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the setup and registration of a new children’s home with Ofsted
- Lead and manage daily operations, ensuring the highest standards of care and safeguarding
- Recruit, train, and supervise staff, fostering a positive and professional team culture
- Develop and implement individual care plans tailored to each child’s needs
- Maintain effective communication with children, families, staff, and external agencies
- Monitor staff performance and provide ongoing support and development
- Manage budgets and resources to ensure efficient and effective service delivery
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the daily operations of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care and safeguarding
- Oversee the registration process with Ofsted and maintain full regulatory compliance
- Recruit, train, and supervise staff, fostering a culture of professionalism and empathy
- Develop and implement individual care plans tailored to the needs of each child
- Maintain effective communication with children, families, staff, and external agencies
- Monitor staff performance and provide ongoing support and development
- Manage budgets and resources to ensure efficient and effective service delivery
Experience & Requirements
- Proven experience in a management role within a children’s residential setting
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (Children & Young People) or equivalent (ESSENTIAL)
- Strong understanding of Ofsted frameworks and safeguarding legislation
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Full UK driving licence & access to vehicle
- Right to work full-time in the UK
